Description
Humanitarian crises across the globe lead to profound physical and psychological trauma, causing displacement, isolation, and immense stress within communities. Recognizing the critical need for accessible mental health support, the DETAM project is dedicated to empowering mental health professionals with digital technology skills to expand and enhance service delivery. EU-Funded Initiative We are proud to announce that DETAM is an EU-funded project, supported by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ VET program. The funding is facilitated by the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training (NA BIBB) in Germany. AIforlive serves as the coordinator for this initiative, underscoring our collective commitment to improving mental health services across Europe. Project Overview Running from October 2023 to April 2025, DETAM is a comprehensive six-step program designed to: Conduct Field Research: Identify the specific needs of target groups affected by humanitarian crises. Develop Training Content: Create educational materials to train mental health professionals in digital technologies. Pilot Training Session: Implement a trial run to refine the training approach and materials. Prepare Project Report: Document findings, insights, and recommendations for broader application. Disseminate Outcomes: Share results with stakeholders, policymakers, and the wider community. Measure Impact: Evaluate changes in psychologists' approaches toward integrating digital technology into their practice. Our Goals Enhance Accessibility: Utilize digital platforms to reach more individuals in need, especially those in remote or crisis-affected areas. Improve Service Quality: Equip professionals with tools to provide higher quality care efficiently. Reduce Workload: Streamline processes for mental health providers through effective use of technology. Inform Policy and Practice: Influence future mental health strategies and training programs with our findings. Building a Healthier Society By fostering familiarity with digital technologies among mental health providers, DETAM aims to contribute to a healthier and happier society. Our focus on hybrid recovery models ensures that individuals receive personalized care under professional guidance, regardless of their circumstances. Looking Ahead We believe that DETAM's outcomes will pave the way for innovative interventions in mental health services. Through this EU-funded project, we are committed to making a lasting impact on how mental health support is accessed and delivered.
